Tutoring Programs

The Academic Resource Center provides tutoring for Mercer University students at the Macon campus and the Atlanta campus. We also provide tutoring for Mercer students at the Regional Academic Centers in Douglas County, Henry County, and Macon. All of our tutoring labs operate on a drop-in basis, so no appointments are necessary.

Macon Traditional Undergraduate Tutoring

The ARC provides free, drop-in tutoring to students on the Macon Campus; no appointments are necessary. Peer tutors offer assistance with writing, mathematics, the sciences, foreign languages, and a variety of other academic disciplines. During the fall and spring semesters, tutoring labs are open Sunday-Thursday from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Visit our Macon Traditional Undergraduate Schedule webpage for schedule information.

Tutor Qualifications

Tutors are Mercer University students at a sophomore standing or higher who have successfully completed the courses they tutor and received a faculty recommendation. In addition to a strong academic record (at least a 3.0 GPA overall and in the courses they tutor), our peer tutors participate in College Reading and Learning Association-certified training. Macon RAC

Tutoring is conducted in the Academic Resource Center, located in the breezeway of the Connell Student Center. Professional tutors hold special hours for adult learners. Adult learners are also invited to consult undergraduate peer tutors who provide assistance in a wide variety of disciplines during regular drop-in hours on Sunday - Thursday from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. This service is free to all Mercer University students; no appointments are necessary.
